Jamie's Ranking Points Breakdown

This table should, hopefully, explain Jamie's current position in the singles rankings. The best 18 result from the last 52 weeks (1 year) count towards a players ranking. I have arranged them from best to worst and included the next four which may come into play if results above them fall of without being replaced.

The column 'Weeks' represents the number of weeks until a result will be lost. Currently all results from 2006 are considered 'safe' and are given a faint zero.

Jamie won GB F14. Very Happy Very Happy

The points aren't added till next week but I couldn't wait that long so this is next week's table. Jamie lost 8 points from Edinburgh last year so he has gained 10 on the week before (which is this week).

Jamie has entered a challenger in Sacramento next week, he will be defending the 12 points he won in Bolton last year. Then he will move on to Calabas where he will aim to improve on 4 points form Jersey last year.

Really fab table and explanation Niall Very Happy I think that table you've posted would also be great to go on the "rankings" page of the site. What do you think ?

Jamie will need 5 points to move back into the top 300, he's already guaranteed 4 this week due to qualifying for Binghampton [3pts+1 if he loses in rd1].

Next week is the Bronx challenger but Jamie will do well to qualify for that as despite being a 50k the field is extremely strong due to it being the last USA challenger before US Open qualies. Richard Bloomfield and Martin Lee will have to qualify in Bronx aswell. Therefore, it'd be great if he can gain a sackload of pts this week Very Happy

Jamie's got really massive weeks points-wise at the start of October with Edinburgh and Bolton to defend. It'll be interesting to see whether he plays the GB futures [where he'll have to win the tourney to defend his points] or whether he goes for qualifying for some of the European challengers.
Niall

Unfortunately, I think Jamie is only guarenteed 3 points as it is only 2 points for qualification at this level of challenger. Sad

I thought the forum would be a good place for the table as people would be able to point out my mistakes. The formula for the number of weeks left seems to work but it is far from perfect.

If people agree that the table is ok then I could smarten it up for the official site.

Jamie's gained 7 points this week, this will take him up to approximately 303 on Monday.

I think the table's really great Niall, it's good having it on here and it'd be great to have it on the rankings page aswell as it provides such a clear explanation.

I have updated the table to include the 7 points gained from Binghampton. Admin if you want to use the the table on the main site you are very welcome, also I'll do new graphs as Jamie's singles and Colin's doubles rankings will improve.

Sadly Jamie is already out of the Bronx challenger so nothing much will happen next week. Crying or Very sad

Thanks for the new ranking progress graph Niall and also the table on this page. I've added both to the site, to view them there go to:

Jamie's got no points to defend until the week of the 11th September. After next week, I expect he'll head back to Europe. I wonder if he'll play some of the indoor European challengers or whether he might drop down to the futures circuit to try and pick up some points to get further into the top 300 before October when he has loads to defend.
Niall

I have updated the table.

Jamie decided not to play any futures or challengers in the past few weeks and instead has concentrated on training for the Davis Cup Tie in Ukraine.

Jamie has only lost one point in that time, however, he has 24 points to defend in October so he will need to get back to playing tournaments.

Jamie's playing GB F14 in Nottingham next week, hopefully he does well there, he could do with winning a sackful of points with 22 points coming off from Edinburgh and Bolton in October. After Nottingham, he's going to be playing challengers where he's going to have to qualify and win 2-3 matches just to get 1 point, so it's vital he has a good run next week. If he loses 22 pts then he'll drop right down to 348.

Looking at the entry list, it's quite weak for a 15K and Jamie will be the 2nd seed. There's no one there who he can't beat, Stadler is ranked 251 as the top seed but Jamie's beaten higher ranked players.

Last year, the experience of being part of the DC squad against Switzerland really spurred him on and he had some fabulous results in October. Hopefully the same thing happens this year.
